The Amazon Summer School
The Amazon Summer School provides a world-class learning and volunteering experience to all those who want to become sustainable leaders. It will take place right into the heart of the Amazon forest, in Tumbira, near the Black River and its native communities, from 21 July to 6August 2014. This innovative program will bring together 24 participants from all over the world, a language coach, experienced facilitators and top experts to 17 days of training in sustainability, cultural exchange and engagement with the wildlife and local communities.
Participants may also apply to extend their period of stay at the Amazon Forest to implement a project in their area of expertise. In case they are selected, the participants become volunteers and we will cover all the accommodation and local transportation costs associated to their stay.
Who should apply?
Anyone who has already started his/ her university studies is encouraged to apply, regardless of the field of studies, professional experience or country of origin. You will be selected to the summer school on the basis of your academic and professional background, level of interest in sustainability, ability to live and interact in a multicultural environment, physical and emotional maturity and proactivity.

Tuition Fees and Financial Aid
$3500 USD (included tuition, room, food, local travel. Excludes airfare).Partial/Full Need-based scholarships and travel grants are available for individuals only in case of financial need. For more information check the terms and conditions in the FAQ Section.
